6 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
5 cups chicken broth

2 garlic cloves, crushed
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Salt and black pepper, to taste
8 ounces grated sharp cheddar cheese

2. Add broccoli, onions, garlic, nutmeg, salt, and pepper; stir well, cover, and cook until softened, 20 to 25 minutes. Add cheese, stir to melt completely, and serve immediately.
